Instruction
Handwriting - My Way performs beyond the scope of current writing apps by providing step by step instruction for letter formation in a multi-modal format. Students are able to see the letters, hear the letter names, hear the correct letter sounds, watch animated letter formation videos, learn repeatable verbal cues for correct letter formation, and trace the animated letters with their fingertip to begin learning correct formation and motor-planning. Students can then use the videos as a reference or guide when learning and then practicing efficient formation with paper and pencil. The uses of this tool for learning to write are limitless!
Handwriting - My Way was purposefully designed to be an instructional tool not a writing system. This is an important distinction. Tools have an advantage over systems in that tools can be used immediately, in multiple ways, to meet a student's learning style or ability level. Systems often require pre-teaching or additional setup and materials. Tools also have the advantage of being used "in conjunction with", as opposed to "in place of", other instructional materials.

Letter Order
Letters are ordered and grouped by color based on common line forms. Above all else, handwriting is a motor skill. Teaching common line and letter forms in groups provides students with consistent and repetitive practice of correct line forms and motor plans, improving the efficiency of their letter formation while reducing instances of incorrect, and frustrating, letter formation.
